Little Coders
mp start your child’s STEAM education with Coding with Kids’ Little Coders class! Students will develop their computational thinking skills and build their own creative programs. Our curriculum combines a blend of fun activities - both "on-screen" and “off-screen" - to keep students engaged and excited about coding. This class will give students a strong foundation on coding basics, such as loops and conditionals, that can be built upon in our other classes. Kids will be introduced to these programming fundamentals in a variety of ways appropriate for this age group, from coding puzzles and board games to hands-on programming using online drag-and-drop tools, such as Scratch (scratch.mit.edu).

Beginner French
Why Is learning French with Culture Club so effective? It's easy! We teach using what we know about brain science and language acquisition in children. We start by giving them tools to become confident lifelong language learners. In class, we get high fives for yelling "cognate!" Or for being able to explain how they knew a word's meaning because the subject or theme was part of their "common knowledge". We maintain classes with year-long commitments to ensure everyone at least masters these skills. No matter what languages they study later down the road, they will go in with their bearings. We are able to get results and students are able to retain what they learn because we don't try to teach them through rote and memorization or heavy grammar rules. By teaching what is most useful to children, we are helping them communicate basic needs from day one! Language needs to be functional and age appropriate! Our teachers read the room and adapt lessons to meet the student's energy levels. Lesson plans are created with the core belief, that movement facilitates learning. Give us a try, you won't be sorry!

Chess Club
Two decades of experience teaches us the four elements of a great chess club are recreational play with friends, formal competition, appropriate instruction and skill-building exercises of various kinds. Chess Odyssey clubs meet for 90-minutes to allow us to effectively incorporate all these elements. For practical reasons, most instruction is done in a group setting. However, our coaches constantly watch for "teachable moments" with individual students (or small groups of them.) Our skill building exercises include paper-based puzzles, positions to play out, and visualization exercises. Chess Odyssey clubs are run by trained, professional chess coaches. Students will, as much as possible, be divided into appropriate groups depending on their age, experience and playing strength. You'll find further details and registration links on our website.
